This piece is the first work in a wallpaper collection I designed inspired by the science of flavour pairing by molecular gastronomer Heston Blumenthal. Each design looks particularly at the marriage of flavours between the oyster and the passionfruit, through the blending of the flowing forms of the oyster with the energetic and graphic essence of passionfruit pulp.

The collection embodies the 'weird but wonderful' concept behind flavour pairing, embracing the beauty that can be found within the peculiar.

The sample was digitally printed on 315gsm archival paper stock. I then foiled highlight areas with copper to create a metallic vs. matte finish.
